Special Prosecutor Appointed To Review Probe into Child’s Death In Princeton

PRINCETON – Bureau County is appointing a special prosecutor to review the State Police investigation into the death of a child during a hostage situation..  Authorities say officers responded last week to a home in the 2700 block of East Street in Princeton, where they learned that a person was armed with a knife and holding several people hostage.  Officers entered the home and shots were fired, leaving three-year-old Damian Camacho dead.  Anthony Rodriguez was charged in the incident.  A request for a special prosecutor was made to reassure the boy’s family that there is no conflict of interest.
