Train Derailment Briefly Closes Railroad Crossing In Franklin Grove

FRANKLIN GROVE —  A train derailment is being blamed for closing a railroad crossing in Franklin Grove briefly on Monday.  There is no word of any injuries in the incident, which saw as many as four rail cars loaded with coal become stuck on the west side of the community.  No cars were tipped and no contents were spilled, and crews were able to get Elm Street open in under two hours.  The cause of the derailment hasn’t been released.
