ROCHELLE — Rochelle Municipal Utilities announced the arrival of a new filter for its Iron Removal Plant at Well 8, marking a major step in a $7.4 million upgrade to improve water quality and reliability. The project, funded entirely through the Illinois EPA State Revolving Fund with full principal forgiveness, will allow the plant to treat 2.6 million gallons of water per day and remove radium if needed. Completion is expected later this year.
