DEKALB – Tails Humane Society has received a $28,000 donation from Petco Love to support care for more than 2,350 pets each year. The funds will help provide shelter, medical attention, and adoption services for animals in need in the community.
Executive Director Michelle Groeper called the gift “amazing,” saying it is “changing to our shelter” and helps offset major costs like replacing heavily used spay and neuter surgical instruments. She also highlighted the role of shoppers who round up at Petco registers.
“That really does come back to your local shelters, and for us, it absolutely helps us offset all of the costs that we have,” she said.
Petco Love, formerly the Petco Foundation, has invested nearly $375 million in more than 4,000 animal welfare organizations since its founding in 1999.
