JOLIET – Authorities say the man who was convicted of murdering a six-year-old Palestinian-American child in Chicago has died in prison. Joseph Czuba received a 53-year sentence for stabbing Wadee Alfayoumi 26 times on October 14th, 2023, a week after Hamas’ attack on Israel. Czuba also wounded the boy’s mother. In addition to first-degree murder and attempted murder, a jury convicted Czuba on hate crimes charges in February of this year and he was sentenced in May. The Will County Sheriff’s Office in Joliet, Illinois said the 73-year-old died on Thursday, but did not provide any details.
