LaHood Secures Nearly $19 Million for Infrastructure and Community Projects in 16th District

WASHINGTON – Congressman Darin LaHood announced that nearly $19 million has been secured for 11 infrastructure and community projects across Illinois’ 16th District. The funding includes $5 million for a new interchange at Minooka Road and Interstate 80 to support industrial growth, $4 million for a new fire and EMS facility in Metamora, and $2 million for flood mitigation in Dixon along Fargo Creek. Other notable projects include $2 million for a behavioral health and workforce training center in Princeton, $1.5 million for a new air cargo road at the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington-Normal, and $1 million for bridge replacements in Streator. Smaller projects include $600,000 for infrastructure upgrades at Galena Road Industrial Park in Peoria, $1 million for Radnor Road improvements, $556,000 for technology updates at Bloomington’s Real Time Information and Crime Center, $750,000 for lift station and force main improvements in South Beloit, and $500,000 for the Furrow Bridge replacement in Pekin.
