HILLCREST — The Village of Hillcrest is considering construction of a new fabric covered salt storage building on village owned property. A proposed 60 by 25 foot structure could hold at least 75 tons of salt, enough for the village’s current storage needs. Preliminary costs range from about $90,000 for a single frame structure to $108,000 for a double truss structure. The estimates include the building and installation but not improvements to the access road, drainage or existing concrete slab. Village officials plan to have the existing slab inspected before moving forward and will review updated pricing and additional information before making a decision.
