ROCHELLE — A strong line of storms brought gusty winds that knocked down tree limbs and disrupted utilities Wednesday in Rochelle. The same active weather pattern that produced tornadoes elsewhere in Illinois caused some power and internet outages across the Hub City. The City of Rochelle Public Works Department will conduct a special brush pickup today to assist with cleanup efforts. Residents are asked to place tree branches at the curb. City officials said that if crews are unable to complete pickup throughout the city on Thursday, collection efforts will continue Friday as needed.
