DeKalb County History Center Receives Meta Grant for Campus Expansion

SYCAMORE — The DeKalb County History Center has received a $25,000 grant from Meta to support its campus expansion project, which includes gardens, walking paths, and educational features focused on local agriculture. The funding will help expand the outdoor space into a learning environment where visitors can explore farming history and modern practices while supporting food donation efforts through the site’s working garden. Executive Director Michelle Donahoe said, “This one was for $25,000 connected to the campus expansion project. That grant is going to help us have funding go towards our gardens.” Donahoe said the space will serve as an outdoor classroom tied to agriculture and community education.
