Byron Approves Partial Payment for Street Repairs, Notes Additional Costs

BYRON — The Byron City Council approved a first partial payment to Martin & Company Wednesday night for the city’s 2025 street maintenance program, while noting additional work raised the total cost above initial estimates. Officials said change orders, extra paving, and field adjustments added roughly $16,000 to the project. The work, including upgrades to Mill Road and other streets, resulted in significant improvements and should last multiple years. Repairs to the city wood chipper are expected to get underway soon to get it ready for spring.
