ROCHELLE — The Vince Carney Community Theatre will host its first Big Screen Movie Event on Friday, Aug. 7, at the Lincoln Arts Center in Rochelle. The event will feature a showing of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” on a new 12 foot tall by 20 foot wide screen beginning at 7 p.m. The movie event will include fresh popcorn, candy, soda and alcoholic refreshments for adults. The indoor event will have tables and chairs available, with guests also invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs or pillows for comfort. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance or at the door while supplies last. The new screen was made possible through a grant from Flagg Township. “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” was released 40 years ago and follows the adventures of a high school student skipping class for a day in Chicago. The Lincoln Arts Center is located at 108 S. Main St. in Rochelle.
