Sycamore Fire Department Upgrades Ambulances With Advanced Cardiac Monitors

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore Fire Department has upgraded its frontline ambulances with new Stryker LIFEPAK 35 cardiac monitor/defibrillators, enhancing emergency medical care for the community. One unit was purchased through the department’s budget, while the Sycamore Fire Protection District provided the other. These devices improve survival rates by delivering immediate defibrillation, aid EMS personnel in diagnosing and treating heart conditions, and transmit patient data via WiFi and Bluetooth for seamless hospital coordination. Officials say the upgrades will help provide faster, more effective treatment during cardiac emergencies.
