Stray Dog ‘Jughead’ Finds New Home After Struggle To Get Adopted

ROCHELLE — A pit bull affectionately nicknamed Jughead has been adopted after weeks of uncertainty at Ogle County Animal Control. Officials said the stray was found in Rochelle in early August and held at the Rochelle Vet Clinic before being taken in by animal control on August 15th. Staff described Jughead as energetic but sweet, noting he was overlooked after one failed meet-and-greet with another dog. His sister, a dog named Jellybean, was adopted quickly. Supporters, including Rochelle resident Victoria Garcia, helped by covering adoption fees and sharing Jughead’s story on social media. Animal control said Jughead went to a new owner last month, and staff hope more people consider adopting bully breeds, which often struggle to find homes.
