MOUNT MORRIS — The National Straw Sculpting Competition, known as Strawfest, wraps up in Mount Morris on Saturday, August 23, with a day full of activities and entertainment. Visitors can explore the village square campus to view massive, handcrafted straw sculptures created by artists using wood frames, wire, and locally grown straw. The final day features the crowd-favorite straw bale races on closed-off downtown streets and a live rock and roll concert by Rick Lindy and the Wild Ones at the Reckmeyer Bandshell. Food vendors and other family-friendly attractions will also be part of the celebration.
