ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School Theater Company will present Tim Kelly’s comedy ‘My Son is Crazy But Promising’ from April 16th through April 18th at 7:30 p.m. at the high school, featuring a student cast and crew under director Betsie Swartz. The play follows a Hollywood writer who travels to a rundown Arizona hotel in search of treasure but instead finds chaos with odd guests and mistaken identities. Swartz said she wanted a fun show for students and audiences.
“This is the one that made me laugh out loud the most. And so I decided that it would be a great one to do with our students,” she said.
Cast members said they are balancing excitement, nerves, and occasionally themselves as opening night approaches.
Student Bobbie Henning will be on stage in roller skates.
“I was just at the last rehearsal skating around backstage trying to make sure I don’t crack my head open,” she said.
Tickets are three dollars for adults and two dollars for students.
