GENOA – A 26-year-old Rockford woman was taken to OSF Rockford with minor injuries after allegedly losing control of her 2013 Kia Optima while driving northbound on Genoa Road near Melms Road on Sunday. According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a utility pole, causing it to flip onto its roof and become entangled with live wires. The driver was able to exit the vehicle before being transported by EMS. ComEd responded to handle the electrical hazard, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
