Rockford Officials Confirm ICE Presence in Community

ROCKFORD – The City of Rockford says reports and videos showing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, in the community are accurate on Tuesday. City officials said the city and Rockford Police Department had no prior notice of ICE agents arriving in Rockford and have had no further communication or contact with the agency. The Rockford Police Department said it complies with the Illinois Trust Act and will not participate in or assist with immigration detention activities.
