DEKALB — A 22-year-old Rockford man was cited after DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies reportedly found an unoccupied SUV that had left Glidden Road and struck a tree about a quarter mile south of Base Line Road late Friday. Investigators claim the crash happened around 9 p.m. when the northbound vehicle went off the roadway for an unknown reason. The driver, identified as Angel Chavez, was later taken to a hospital by family members. He was cited for improper lane use and failing to report a crash.
