Rockford Man Charged In Death of Infant

ROCKFORD —  A 27-year-old Rockford man is charged in the death of an infant.  Police say officers responded Sunday to a Rockford home in the 2400 block of Rose Avenue on a report of an unresponsive seven-month-old baby.  The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.  The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office determined the preliminary cause of death to be blunt force trauma.  Detectives identified the suspect as Jaden Hearns, who was known to the victim.  He was arrested on multiple charges, including murder and aggravated battery to a child.
