Rochelle VFW Donation Supports Local Schools And Teacher Programs

ROCHELLE — A veterans group in Rochelle has donated funds to support local school programs in the Rochelle area. The Floyd J. Tilton VFW Post 3878 presented a $2,500 donation on April 13 to the David Crawford Foundation using proceeds from its Queen of Hearts drawing. The foundation provides grant funding for teachers in the Rochelle Elementary School District to support classroom needs. The group also funds band instruments and provides gift cards for teachers. The current Queen of Hearts jackpot has reached $86,860 and continues to grow. The foundation will host a family bingo night at Lincoln School in Rochelle on May 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. for families with children in the district.
