Rochelle Township High School Prepares for Homecoming and Welcomes New Teachers

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School is preparing for homecoming week with a downtown parade Thursday at 6 p.m. ending near Tilton school, followed by a pep rally and coronation at 6:30 p.m. and a powder puff game at 8 p.m., leading up to Friday’s football game against LaSalle-Peru and the Saturday dance. Assistant Principal Alison Vrana reported on Monday during the RTHS Board Meeting that 33 percent of RTHS teachers are non-tenured and outlined support programs including orientation, mentoring, evaluations, and collaboration opportunities. New staff members introduced include Spanish teacher Kim Waters, English teacher Finley Callahan, and library media specialist Amber Cravens. The board also accepted the resignation of softball coach Deanna Jacobs, appointed Anna Criswell as interim head coach and Chad Stewart as interim assistant coach, and approved the 2025-2026 budget.
