Rochelle Mayor Proclaims May as Motorcycle Awareness Month

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Mayor John Bearrows has proclaimed May as Motorcycle Awareness Month in the city, calling on residents to prioritize safety on local roads and across Illinois. The proclamation states that motorcycles are a common and economical form of transportation that can reduce fuel use, road wear, and traffic congestion. It also highlights Illinois as a leader in motorcycle safety, education, and awareness. The mayor recognized the work of ABATE of Illinois for promoting motorcycle safety through education programs that have reached more than 120,000 people in the past six years. The proclamation also notes the contributions of motorcyclists to charitable causes and urges all roadway users to share the road safely.
