Rochelle Marks Water Infrastructure Project Completion

ROCHELLE  — The City of Rochelle will celebrate the reconstruction of its Well 8 water facility today at 11 a.m. Located at 1015 South Caron Road, the project completes a major $7.4 million upgrade to improve water quality and system reliability. Funded entirely through the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency State Revolving Fund with full principal forgiveness, the improved facility allows Rochelle Municipal Utilities to treat 2.6 million gallons of water daily. The new construction includes a filter for the Iron Removal Plant and the capability to remove radium as necessary.
