ROCHELLE — Rochelle Community Hospital will hold a one-day Career Quest event for ninth graders through Seniors on Monday, October 13, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering an inside look at hospital departments and hands-on healthcare activities.
Organizer Janetta Martina, RN, said that the event will include ambulance demonstrations, intubation, IV starts, lab and pharmacy experiences, physical therapy exercises, and more.
“In the past what I’ve seen is students tend to really like the suturing activity, the mock surgeries, and the nursing skills the best.” she said.
Breakfast, lunch, and event T-shirts will be provided. Space is limited to just 12 students, and registration is open now by contacting Martina at Rochelle Community Hospital.
“ I’m just really hopeful that they’ll find it fun and exciting and that it will inspire someone to consider going into healthcare. Not everybody can be an influencer, right?”
