Rochelle Commission Supports Permit for New Childcare Center

ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously last month to support a special use permit for a childcare center at 450 E. Coronado Drive. The property, formerly a medical office and now vacant, sits in a Planned Unit Development zoning district. Elion Business Center LLC, doing business as Mothers Little Helper Learning Center, requested the permit. Commissioners found the use met zoning rules, would not hurt public health or nearby property values, and would not affect nearby development. The city’s role ends with the permit, while state officials will handle licensing.
