ROCHELLE — City Manager Jeff Fiegenschuh is leaving Rochelle after eight years to take a new position in another community, informing Mayor John Bearrows and the City Council during a closed session Monday night; his last day is expected in mid January. City officials noted that Fiegenschuh helped guide economic development, build financial reserves, and lead infrastructure and organizational improvements during his tenure.
“It has been a fantastic and productive eight years,” he said. “I want to thank Mayor Barrows, the city council, former mayor Chet Olsen, and past council members for all the support and grace they have given me.”
The City Council plans to discuss naming an interim manager and starting the search for a permanent replacement at a special meeting on December 23rd.
“I have loved being here, and I consider Rochelle a second home.”
