Rochelle Approves Utility Easement For Substation Project

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved the purchase of a utility easement needed for the Centerpoint Substation project during a Monday meeting. The easement, purchased from Chicago Title Trust CP for $12,402, will allow for the installation, maintenance, and emergency access for electrical infrastructure tied to the substation. The city will pay the cost using funds from the electric fund, which has a budget of $9.8 million for the project.
