Rochelle Approves Special Use Permit for Verizon Antennas on 7th Street

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle City Council approved a special use permit for Verizon Wireless to install antennas, radios, and related equipment on the roof of the Comfort Inn building at 1133 N. 7th Street to enhance coverage in the area. The 2.7-acre property, which includes the hotel, condos, and parking garage, is zoned B-2 Highway Commercial, where small cell facilities require special use approval. The equipment will be mounted on sleds to avoid roof penetration, and the project complies with zoning codes intended to minimize visual and safety impacts.
