ROCHELLE – Longtime Rochelle radio personality Rick Green died Saturday in Franklin Grove at the age of 74. Green grew up on the family farm in Chana and graduated from Stillman Valley High School. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in radio and television from Southern Illinois University. After college, Green made Rochelle his home and began a radio career at WRHL that lasted more than 40 years. He recorded countless commercials and hosted the weekly Trading Post, becoming a familiar voice throughout the Rochelle area. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Unger Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle.
