CRESTON – The Village of Creston is working to replace a computer after a system failure disrupted water billing and payroll. Village President Tom Byro said village officials have had difficulty transferring software and getting the water billing system back up and running. The village has also been unable to process payroll while the computer issue is being resolved. Officials hope to have a replacement computer ready by the end of the week. Byro said the village is also looking into purchasing a backup computer and adding other safeguards to prevent similar problems in the future. The village is working with its software providers to transfer the necessary information and restore the water billing system.
