CHICAGO — Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, along with the governors of Minnesota and New York, has been asked to testify before the House Oversight Committee in May as part of an investigation into how sanctuary policies affect public safety. The hearing follows a similar one in March where Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and other city leaders discussed their immigration policies. The Congressional Budget Office reported that about 2.4 million immigrants entered the U.S. each year from 2021 to 2024. Pritzker has not yet confirmed whether he will attend the May 15th hearing.
