SYCAMORE — A 66-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in rural DeKalb County. DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 5:50 PM to the 21000 block of Airport Road, south of Barber Greene Road, for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. The woman was reportedly crossing the roadway when she was struck and was taken by Sycamore Fire Department to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, a 36-year-old Sycamore man, was not injured. No citations have been issued and the crash remains under investigation.
