OREGON — The City of Oregon is seeking residents to volunteer as ambassadors for a Community Revitalization Strategy in partnership with the Illinois Housing Development Authority. City Manager Darin DeHaan said the city needs volunteers to attend planning meetings, gather input from residents and stakeholders, identify housing priorities and help assess homes that may need repairs or accessibility improvements. The effort will include a housing survey and could identify needs for residents who require ADA access. The plan is intended to outline local housing needs, connect them to economic and community goals and position the city for future grant funding. Residents interested in volunteering can email DeHaan at ddehaan@cityoforegon.org or message the city through its Facebook page.
