OREGON — A 2022 Kaufman flatbed trailer is headed to the auction block after the Oregon City Council declared it surplus property. City Manager Darin DeHaan explained that the trailer, purchased under a previous department head, does not fit current equipment and cannot be used as intended for winter water main breaks.
While a local individual has already expressed interest in the purchase, DeHaan insisted on a public process. “I want this to go out to the bidding website. So everybody has a fair chance… we have to have multiple bidders. Or the option for multiple bidders,” DeHaan said. The city will move forward with the online listing to ensure transparency and a fair sale.
