Ogle County Detectives Arrest Two In Animal Cruelty Case

MOUNT MORRIS, Ill. Ogle County Sheriff’s detectives began investigating multiple deceased dogs found at the Mount Morris Estates Trailer Park on January 9, 2026. As a result of the investigation, Michele Botheroyd, 34, of Byron, and Adam Latham, 41, of Byron, were arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, a Class 4 felony. Both were booked and released on a notice to appear. Detectives were assisted by Ogle County Animal Control, which took possession of one remaining dog owned by the pair.
