Ogle County Approves Fees for Highway Work

OREGON  — The Ogle County Board approved a new ordinance Tuesday night to impose fees for work and disturbances to county highways and rights-of-way. The ordinance requires permits for major maintenance, new construction, agricultural field tile, and automatic license plate readers, while minor maintenance and emergency repairs do not require permits. Fees range from $50 for access widening to $35,000 for major access on Flagg Road. The ordinance includes rules for inspections, damage repair, suspension or revocation of permits, and compliance with all applicable laws. It goes into effect this April.

Utility Permits: 

Emergency & minor maintenance: no fee.

Major maintenance: $150. 

Agricultural field tile: $100. 

Modification/new construction: $750. 

Permit renewal/extension: $100. 

ALPR permit: $250. 

Access Permits: 

Access widening: $50 (except agricultural access). 

Agricultural access: no fee. 

Temporary access: $450. 

Minimum use access: $100. 

Minor access: $1,000 (Flagg Road section: $10,000). 

Major access: $4,500 (Flagg Road section: $35,000). 

Permit renewal/extension: $100 + any review costs.

Applicants responsible for all transaction or third-party processing fees. Effective Date: April 1, 2026.
