National HIV Testing Day Highlights Importance of Knowing Your Status

CHICAGO – National HIV Testing Day, observed each year on June 27th since 1995, encourages people to get tested for HIV, learn their status, and connect with appropriate care or prevention services. The 2025 theme, “Level up your self-love: check your status,” promotes self-care and awareness as essential steps toward personal and public health. HIV testing, including self-testing options like Together TakeMeHome, supports early treatment or prevention through tools such as PrEP, condoms, and other sexual health services. Resources, including testing information in English and Spanish, are available through the CDC and other platforms like America’s HIV Epidemic Analysis Dashboard, which helps guide efforts to reduce disparities and support health equity.
