Number 3 Michigan are champions of the Big 10 Conference regular season following a 84-70 win over Number 10 Illinois at the State Farm Center in Champaign on Friday night.
The Wolverines are now (27-2) overall and (17-1) in conference play.
Morez Johnson Jr., who played last season for Illinois, had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Michigan.
Aday Mara also had 19 points.
Michigan snapped a 9-game losing streak against Illinois with the win.
The Illini have now lost 2 straight games. Freshman Keaton Wagler had 23 points as Illinois is now (22-7) for the season and (13-5) in the Big 10 Conference.
They play at home on Tuesday against Oregon.
