Mendota Prepares for 78th Annual Sweet Corn Festival

MENDOTA – The 78th Annual Mendota Sweet Corn Festival returns August 7–10, bringing four days of free, family-friendly events to downtown Mendota, including carnival rides, over 200 craft and flea market vendors, a beer garden with live bands, and the long-standing tradition of free sweet corn served Sunday afternoon. 

President of the Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce, Samantha Setchell, said you’ll love the affordable entertainment.

“All of our stages have these wonderful acts completely free. No admission fees, no parking fees,” she said.Scheduled entertainment includes Silvertone Junction on Thursday, Los Ahijados del Barranco and Banda Nuestra Tierra on Friday, and Abbynormal on Saturday, with additional performances at the First State Bank Stage and Hospitality Tent throughout the weekend. The mile-long grand parade steps off Sunday at 1 p.m., followed by the corn giveaway at 2, with all events free to attend except those in the beer garden.
