SAVANNA – House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has launched her summer reading program Reading Buzz, marking the 10th year she has supported the effort to encourage students in the 89th District to read during summer break. McCombie has continued the program throughout her time in the state legislature to help students build a love of reading through a fun challenge and allow participation to count toward other reading programs at local libraries. McCombie said the program helps students enjoy reading, stay engaged during the summer months, and feel rewarded for their effort. Reading Buzz entries are due by July 15th and can be submitted through her website. Families are also invited to attend Sweet Corn Day on August 1st in Savanna for recognition and a special treat.
