Man Accused of Robbing Rockford Post Office At Gunpoint Indicted

ROCKFORD –  A 58-year-old man accused of robbing a United States Post Office in Rockford at gunpoint in May faces federal charges.  Anthony Johnson was indicted by a federal grand jury this week.  Police say Johnson entered the Post Office at 1140 Broadway on May 27th, demanded money from the postal clerk, and displayed a handgun.  After taking the cash, he fled the scene.  Johnson was previously arrested on multiple robbery charges.
