DIXON — The Illinois Department of Transportation said, weather permitting, work on U.S. 52 will begin May 11 on an 8-mile stretch from Eldena Road south of Dixon to just south of U.S. 30, including intersections with U.S. 30 and Inlet Road. The $4.6 million project will include milling and resurfacing with daytime lane closures controlled by flaggers and is expected to be completed by the end of August. Drivers are urged to use caution, follow posted signs and avoid distractions in the work zone.
