SPRINGFIELD — Illinois has removed outdated federal reporting requirements from its Equal Pay Act with the signing of HB 2488, streamlining the process for large employers to report wage data to the state. The amendment eliminates all references to the federal EEO-1 report, which state officials determined did not provide useful information for Illinois’ Equal Pay Registration Certificate program. Businesses with 100 or more employees must still submit wage data to the Illinois Department of Labor every two years to show that compensation is equitable across sex and race.
