SPRINGFIELD — Illinois lawmakers are approving the appointment of the state’s new auditor general. Christopher Meister will take over as executive director of the Illinois Finance Authority, replacing the retiring Frank Mautino. Meister will begin his new role on May 1st. He will oversee the agency tasked with conducting audits of other departments that fall under state government.
