CHICAGO — Illinois home sales increased 9.2% in June from a year earlier, with 13,826 properties changing hands compared with 12,665 in June 2024. Median prices statewide rose 3.2% to $325,000. In the Rockford metropolitan area, closed sales jumped 22.2% to 429 homes, and the median price climbed 3.6% to $211,325. Other notable gains were seen in Peoria, up 18.9% in sales, and Carbondale–Marion, up 38%. Chicago recorded 2,365 closed sales, a 2.6% increase from last year, with a median price of $400,000. Most metro areas posted higher sales and rising or stable median prices, while Kankakee saw a slight drop in median price to $227,000.
