Illinois Fire Marshal Opens $6 Million Grant Program for Fire and EMS Equipment

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal announced Monday that applications are open for the Small Equipment Grant Program, which will provide $6 million to eligible fire departments and ambulance services to buy equipment. Grants of up to $26,000 will be awarded, with applications due online by Nov. 14, 2025. The program, which awarded $4 million to 178 agencies in March, is intended to help departments and not-for-profit ambulance providers cover the cost of small tools and equipment.
