Illinois Department of Agriculture Hosts Open House in Oregon to Discuss Spongy Moth Treatment

OREGON – The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) will hold an open house tonight from 3 to 5 PM at the Oregon Public Library to discuss the upcoming Spongy Moth treatment program. The meeting will focus on treatment plans for affected areas in Ogle County, including Oregon and Lowden Miller, which together cover nearly 1,900 acres. The treatment, set for mid to late June, will involve aerial application of a mating disruption pheromone to reduce Spongy Moth populations. IDOA staff will be available to answer questions and provide additional details on the program.
