CHICAGO — Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is warning residents about an increase in investment scams on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp that use deceptive ads and fake endorsements to steal money. Officials said scams often promise high returns and push victims to send funds through cryptocurrency or other methods. Raoul urges residents to be cautious, verify investment offers and report suspected scams to the Attorney General’s office.
