ROCHELLE – A new facility devoted to baseball and softball has opened in Rochelle. Started by the Owners of Bennie Baseball, HitHub offers batting cages and pitching machine rentals. They also offer baseball and softball instruction and Facility Rentals for team practices and parties. Bennie Baseball was founded in 2018 by two brothers, Joe and Robert Bennie.
“We understand firsthand how expensive any travel sport or any sport nowadays can be. We just wanted to kind of do the opposite where we create an affordable and accessible option for players to get their work in year-round,” he said.
He was drafted by the Oakland A’s in the 2013 MLB draft.
The building will be open for athletes to train on their schedule.
“You just come in and do what you want 24-7, so just kind of give them that accessibility, which I think a lot of kids lack. I think a lot more kids will get into baseball if they have a place they can go to,” Bennie noted.
