HILLCREST – At the Hillcrest Village Trustee meeting Wednesday night, they announced that they will begin enforcing tickets for ordinance violations they previously issued warnings for. Residents should be aware that an effort is being made to clean up the village, and they could be cited for unkept property, including tall weeds, unregistered vehicles, and piles of junk. In other matters, the village moved $1 million into Illinois Funds, and by doing so should receive about $25,000 in interest for this year, and around $50,000 per year at around 5% interest. It was also announced that a number of infrastructure repairs are being made, including the painting and numbering of the fire hydrants.
